Dear Dr. Mickey Park,
Greetings! My name is Alfredo and I am an inmate serving an 8-½ years sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections for violation of probation. Recently, while in confinement I received a copy of your book “Stepping Stones To Freedom” and after I read it I decided to make the choice to give my life to Christ. Your story inspired me to make this change in my life. I too have struggled for years with addiction and as a result have lost everything from the trust of my family to my freedom. I have 5 young children who are now growing up without their father as a result of my poor choices. I am a firm believer that all things happen for a reason. I was really running wild in the streets as a gang member of the “Latin Kings”, a drug addict/dealer, womanizer, gambler, thief and liar. I believe that it was God’s Grace and love that rescued me from the path to sure destruction and placed me here in prison where I can reflect and find my true calling in life. I wish to give my life to His ministry. More specifically I wish to work with at risk youth to preach and minister to them about Christ and the gift of eternal salvation. I believe that speaking to children and teaching them the correct paths in life while they are young can make a profound difference in the choices they make as young adults. I know that if properly trained in the ways of of the Lord I will make a difference in the lives of many who only need that guidance and love in Christ that I want to share.
